RCE vulnerabites allow external parties to run code locally on your system. Microsoft released updates for this Tuesday, May 14th 2019 that include patches for products past their (Microsoft’s end of life). It Must be important. The first line of protection is always to patch as soon as possible.  Microsoft typically releases patches on the second Tuesday of the month. MS and other vendors push out patches all the time. This is the advantage of using an automated system to apply them, like Tekmar’s IT Blueprint. 

Particulary important against any vulnerability is to ensure the affected systems are patched with Microsoft’s latest security update.  This continues to be the primary recommendation for protection against any exploit that may arise from this vulnerability. According to Trend Micro, due to the sheer volume of systems that utilize Remote Desktop Services and threat potential of a fast spreading exploit, it is imperative that organizations and individual apply the patches from Microsoft as soon as possible.
