5 reasons business class laptops are better
The first laptop in my hands was in the early 1990s. It was a business class machine made by Tandy corporation. That’s right Tandy! The parent company of the once thriving consumer electronics retailer, Radio Shack. Tandy was ahead of the curve on the personal computer and business computers. So far ahead that few remember them now. So far ahead that meany never realized it and they faded away into the now mostly defunct retailer. At the time, Panasonic new the 5 reasons business class laptops are better. They bought Tandy’s business class laptops for their office automation division.
The reason that these machines were chosen by the electronics giant are the same 5 reasons business class laptops are better more than twenty-five years later.

1990s laptop my first one
Portable, lightweight yet durable.
Business class machine from Lenovo, Acer, Dell and others are built for business meaning they are tough yet productive. By today’s standards my first laptop doesn’t look portable and light weight. (Pictured above.) Suffice it to say that it was amazing. Look at the competition here. The competitions winning name was Luggable! It folded up into a suitcase.
State of the art peripherals
Business class laptops are better than consumer models because they are more adaptable. My first laptop had a 3.5-inch floppy drive which was way impressive then. Everybody else I know was using dual boot 5.25 inch drives. More on that under the more RAM heading. Today’s peripherals are things like high quality cameras, microphones, speakers and Bluetooth.
More RAM
My first Laptop had 2Mg of ram which was very unusual because RAM was really expense and the Operating system, DOS, only needed under 640 K. But my laptop was built for business. It ran my fabulous Personal information manager, Lotus metro. See the picture of that below.
High quality keyboard
Lastly your machine should have a high quality like mine then and now. Despite the advance, we are still for the near future tied to a human interface parses. Meaning a keyboard. If you are using your machine for home or business you need a flexible and function keyboard. Sadly, many of the inexpensive consumer laptops skimp on the keyboard.
Longer battery life
While not as important as it was 25 years ago, batter life is critical when choosing a battery powered device. One of the biggest difference today as it was twenty-five years ago in the quality of the battery and the recharge capability in business class machines is far greater.
