Another storm is on the way.  It’s troubling because, driving past parking lots they filled with cars, people are worried about supplies, which is understandable.  The pandemic is not over and we should all be budgeting time to get everything we need to handle any short term crisis without trips to the store that deplete shelves like during the great 2020 toilet paper hording!

Cases are extremely high and have stayed about the same over the past two weeks. The number of hospitalized Covid patients has fallen in the Guilford County area, but I.C.U. occupancy is still very high. Deaths have spiked. The test positivity rate in Guilford County is very high, suggesting that cases are being significantly undercounted. We’ve recommended additional precautions below.

This is the time to be extra cautious.  Wearing a mask, keeping distance and washing hands and wiping surfaces regularly is still wise use of technology.  Technology with a purpose.  With a replay of last weeks ice storms likely on the way, it is best to use tech to work from home. 

Have business assets hosted in the cloud with redundancy on premise has been the the way to go since last February.  Storing files and business critical data in the cloud enables working on the an internet connected device from anywhere.

After taking the steps to the clouds the picture of the fallen tree above is not a problem.  Iy was taken on the way to restarting customers servers and network devices shut down due to power outages that lasted long enough for the UPS to shut things down.  There is another winter storm advisory in effect and it will be best to not be out anyway due to the pandemic which has not gone away.  It is a good time to test your back ups and UPS’s.
