But more than quantity the big advantage is security. A lot of people resist upgrading even though the learning curve is not that great. Thinking that they are better off being more productive with the technology they know, people are actually hurting their brains, and endanger other users by neglecting their on security and productivity. Much of the stagnation is driven by cost concerns and apathy in the end user tech support sector. Calling our customers and prospects and telling them that they need to upgrade makes more work for them. After all we have to continue to support the older versions for people who haven’t upgraded yet. And we have to engage in a personal cycle of learning to stay one step ahead in the recommender queue.

One of the most widely used business tools is also vastly under utilized. The fact is there are thousands of support tools and tutorials available for free. So why wait. We get so busy doing what we do that we fail to consider alternatives. This is why IT blueprints are so important.
